About

Tyler's Story

The Tyler G. Coulter Memorial Golf Tournament is held in loving memory of Tyler who was lost to suicide in 2020.

Tyler grew up in Derby, VT with a love for hockey and soccer, but soon found his passion for the game of golf. Tyler attended North Country Union High School and was a top player for the school's division 1 golf team. He later attended Johnson and Wales University in Miami, FL. Upon graduation, Tyler began working towards becoming a certified golf teaching professional.

Tyler also enjoyed helping kids learn the game any chance he had. He eventually moved back to Vermont and became a member of the Newport Country Club where he taught lessons for the local junior golf program.

Aside from playing golf, Tyler loved his family and his pup named Zoey. He also enjoyed weight lifting, fishing, and playing pond hockey in the winters.

Now in it's 3rd year, the memorial tournament aims to raise awareness of available resources for mental health and to raise money in support of the American Foundation for Suicide prevention (AFSP).
